One-Hand Typing

As of May 2017, TypingClub offers two new lesson plans for one-handed typing. Before students start learning typing with one hand, there are a few steps teachers must take:

Step 1: Go to the “Lesson Plans” section of your portal and install either Right Hand Typing or Left Hand Typing.

Step 2: Assign it to your class.

Step 3: Instruct students to log in. Before they start typing, they will be prompted to update their keyboard settings to allow proper typing with their choice of hand.

If not prompted, students can configure the hand guides by clicking the hand icon in the settings located at the top-right corner of the screen.

Sticky Keys must be turned on in order to use this feature. When using Sticky Keys, you can press the shift key and have it remain active until another key is pressed. This function is designed for individuals that have trouble pressing two keys at once. There is a link to more information about activating Sticky Keys in the student settings menu.
